Funding for pet contraceptives

When I mentioned to some friends of mine who are scientists that there are no contraceptives available for cats, they were very surprised. As Simian who sent me this mentioned, it might very well be due to lack of funding and incentive as a result. Fortunately now there is someone who is offering a grant to encourage pet contraception. Whatever works to reduce overpopulation!
