Mockingbirds

This is a very interesting study about how mockingbirds seem to be able to identify people. Here's the accompanying video. It reminds me about the story in the newspapers a while ago about some crows in Singapore. Apparently they used to swoop down and attack one of the people involved in destroying some trees where they used to roost.

there's this clever bird who comes to our balcony on the dot every morning for breakfast. Then it comes back for lunch and dinner too, sometimes for teabreaks in between =9
It will even call out to us if we didn't see him or her. When my kitties get near the balcony, it will get angry and its crown will shoot up =D
I'm still trying to find out what bird that is..
Few years back, my dad saw this lizard hiding beneath our window rail. He fed it one rice grain and then it came back every day around the same time.. till we changed our window.. i miss that clever lizard..

And we say animals are 'dumb'.

There are really clever animals and there are some who are less clever. Just as there agile cats who can scale heights effortlessly and there are some absolutely clumsy ones ;)
However, all are bright and beautiful; wise and wonderful.
