Non-surgical sterilisation updates

There is a fascinating article in Science magazine this week with updates on the progress of finding a non-surgical method to sterilise dogs and cats. Among the interesting things, the article talks about is how there are many more people now doing research in this area because of the grant. It is extremely expensive to run trials like this - one researcher ended up having to pay out of her own pocket to house the cats for a year - and so this injects a much needed infusion of cash. What's also great to hear is that scientists whose research interests have not necessarily been in this area are now also looking into the area. The more the merrier! Link via Found Animals.
