Loving Singapore

This is a fantastic scan from the Singapore Community Cats blog. It's a scan from the Straits Times supplement. It was a pleasant surprise to see that community cats are one of the reasons listed for loving Singapore!

Yes! i was so proud that our kind samaritans were recognized and featured. Kudos to all those wonderful volunteers from me and our kitty friends. And thunder looks so handsome too.

Of course, against this reason for loving Singapore, I can think of a few for not loving it ... :)

Killing cats when there is a better humane alternative being one of them? :)

Never thought will see the day when "love cats" makes it to one of the 44 Reasons To Love Singapore. Hurray! Glad that community cat care-givers are 'counted'. Thank you cat care-givers.

Dare we hope that a cat care-giver wld actually get a ND medal (for community service) in the not-too-distant future?

From Stray Cat Sterilisation Project At Bukit Merah View

"A volunteer living in Marine Parade was also recently given a volunteer award by the Marine Parade Community Development Council (CDC) for his work with stray cats. The General Manager of the Marine CDC stated in the program brochure that "we have chosen to focus on those active citizens who, in one way or another, have made a direct impact on the lives of fellow Singaporeans and whose passion and dedication in their chosen areas of community work make a tangible difference to others." This is encouraging as it is official recognition that cat volunteers can be part of the solution instead of being seen as part of the problem."

I was about to mention that. That gentleman was the first and only caregiver I know who has been officially recognised.
