Cuddling

Cuddling, originally uploaded by dawnkua.

What house cats do on a cold afternoon. I reminded them that their community cat brethren were out in the cold, but they just went back to sleep.

I often remind my cats how fortunate they are to be well fed and spoilt at home but i think they feel i am really too naggy and they kind of regretted ending up where they are now, always being bossed around by me, haha...

Yes - knowing them they might decide they get a better deal somewhere else than with either of us :)

Human beings are worse..who are never happy with who they are and what they have but wish they are someone else or have more.

We human killed ourselves with worrying (fantasizing future happenings) or reliving the past, esp the "bad movies" over and over until we get totally depressed and blame others!

what beautiful bright eyes they have ! it shows that they are well taken care of.

over at my side, i have some sad news, which is probably relevant to this topic ... the sterilised orange-black-white female cat that used to hang out at Blk 128 Bt Batok has been injured by a car ... a neighbour of mine took her to SPCA as he couldnt afford vet fees. There, she was put down by a vet. (I only learned this from my neighbour yesterday, as we have all been busy & i didnt get to meet him lately).

Obviously this cat has a caregiver who took the trouble to get her sterilised, but I have never met this person. (she was unsterilised before, suddenly one day, she was sterilised, tipped ear & all) ... so if ur the person & ur reading this - i hope this note provides a closure to little mei-mei's life. Im sure u must have searched high & low for her these last 2 weeks.

one other thing is - mei mei is my cat's sister (littermate). i took in my cat cos on one loved him. I didnt adopt mei mei cos she was so pretty & the neighbours/feeders loved her. She had freedom, but living outside has its dangers ...

House cats are lucky but bored. I always tell my cat 'boring is good, routines are good'.

* thanks for reading *

I'm sorry to hear that Belle :( I'm glad that your neighbour took her to the vet though. It might also be that there isn't a caregiver there but that someone is sterilising the cats there because he or she may have thought there were too many cats in the area.

I think "boredom" is different for cats and people. At least cats don't have to go to work for a living or clean house : )
We had a feral cat that came for food for 5 years. It did not like being touched though we managed to get it sterilised. It did what the home cats did - slept a lot around the house compound too.
I think that is what cat does best!
