Cat becomes stationmaster

Here's a funny article sent in by Chinky - thanks Chinky!

Cat named stationmaster in Japanese train station.

The cat has apparently become a tourist attraction - something the authorities may want to consider perhaps? :)

In Singapore, we have some kind of Kucinta cats monument at Singapore River, unfortunately it is a tourist gimmick. As we know it, Kucinta cats are not true blue Singapore cat.
Trust the Japanese for their humane side when it comes to animals -- Oh let's forget about whaling for a minute, there is a good side to the Japanese too.
In Tokyo they have a statue of Hachiko the faithful dog, in Tokyo's Shibuya railroad station. Hachiko waited many years, for his dead owner return at the railway station until Hachiko death.
In Hachiko honour, a statue of Hachiko stood at the railway station. This Shibuya (Hachiko) railway station is used as a meeting or waiting point for the Japanese. Normally on weekends you will see many people waiting for their friends at this Hachiko waiting point near his statue. I've been there and when I heard of Hachiko story, I was moved to tears.
Sob! Sob!

We have a long way to go to accepting something like a cat as a stationmaster here. Too many uptight people here. It will probably spark off another cat vs dog, people vs animals kind of hooha...
