Here's a reply from CWS to Ricky Yeo of ASD's letter. I wonder why it was on the online forum and not in the print edition. I have to say the header of the letter wasn't particularly good - 'battling the problem of strays' sounds as if the animals are the problem, when the issue mentioned is about people really.

Typically repeat but good letters on overly discussed or 'less important' issues(compared to human livelihood or injustice matters) will be published online.
Ah I thought they generally published them in the same section - ie replies are printed in the same section as the original letters. All these original letters were published in the print edition.
I think ST practices has a quota for letters on selected topics. More important topics would have a higher quota. But you are right, this is the first time I see a society's reply online rather than on print. They sometimes do this to individual writers.
A shame really.
