I get the feeling that this whole issue is not about the cats' health in the shelter at all but about people conflict? Human personality conflict or politics maybe? It's just bad that this whole thing gets blown out of proportion which gives caregivers in general a bad rep :(

After the I-Journalist programme, this news story further reinforces the stereotype that cat caregivers are problematic people.

Aminah I'm removing that - I'm not sure that the person would like her details and where she is at to be placed on the Internet.

Actually the person gave permission to put her details in website.
It is alright. I understand you delete it as you not comfortable with it.

just update all of you, the cat with an injured eye taken from David Hooi's flat died while in SPCA.

SPCA had earlier refused to allow Bedok caregivers to view the kitten citing police investigation...but looking at the cat will not change the body of evidence so it is frustrating to find out the kitten is now dead!

Aminah - thanks for messaging. I think it's best to hear from the caregiver herself and not a friend of the caregiver. For one thing, we certainly don't want people to go down and start dumping more cats there.

Anonymous - did anyone call up the SPCA to find out why the kitten died? I understand the initial request to see the kitten was quite soon after the kitten was brought in - it might also be to ensure the kitten is not so stressed.

I heard that David Hooi is back in his estate and the caregivers there are on alert again. What happened? Is there no justice?

I'm not sure on the latest status but I believe that there was some issue of the evidence being insufficient.

Our justice system sucks when it comes to animal abuse cases such as David Hooi. David Hooi been arrested 3 times for torturing/killing cats, yet
he's not in jail for the last offence due to lack of evidence.
Wake up to the truth - Our justice system sucks!

visiting an the injured cat should be a concern for caregivers and looking at it from a distance without interaction would not have caused any amount of stress.

Now the kitten is dead and abusers got away. Next time, get the police to handle abuse cases at least you can foster the cat or vivist it while in private vet clinics.

Anonymous - the police WERE on the case. I wasn't involved but I believe that there was some insufficiency of evidence.
